Martin Kinnear (47) is a British artist, writer and oil painting tutor.
In 2007 he founded The Norfolk Painting School (www.norfolkpaintingschool.com) with his wife and business partner Jane. It has since gone on to become the UK’s leading specialist oil painting school.
Martin is a specialist in traditional and contemporary oil techniques, and regularly contributes on the subject to magazines such as The Artist and Artists & Illustrators. His published articles have featured in these magazines since 2007, and he was designated a ‘Master Painter of The World’ by International Artist Magazine for his oils of the UK’s Lake District.
In 2004 Martin suffered a life changing stroke. Martin’s critically acclaimed and ‘uplifting’ 2016 exhibition The Painted Garden documented how the artist came to terms with illness, disability and mortality. Martin splits his time between his role as Course Director of the Norfolk Painting School, Director of The New British Art Gallery, painting. writing and spending time with his family on the beautiful North Norfolk coast.
